DIGITAL DISPLACEMENT MEASUREMENT

Drawn arc welding with a ceramic ferrule or shielding gas
Stud welding sequence
The welding process comprises lifting, the arc phase and plunging. Process parameters are matched to the specific welding task.
More about stud welding processesLift the stud
After positioning, the stud is lifted. A pilot arc is formed.
Ignite the arc
The main welding current melts the stud end and workpiece surface. A ceramic ferrule or the specified shielding gas supply supports the process.
Plunge the stud
At the end of the preset welding time, the stud plunges into the weld pool. The joint solidifies.

START SOLUTION FINDERFrequently asked questions
about the GAP-12M
Which process does GAP-12M use?
GAP-12M uses drawn arc welding with a ceramic ferrule or shielding gas.
What welding range is possible?
M3–M12, maximum Ø 12 mm. The usable range depends on the power unit, material and welding task.
Which materials are intended?
Unalloyed and alloyed steels and non-heat-treatable aluminium alloys are intended. The material combination and process equipment must suit the welding task.
How is the lift adjusted?
1,0–4,0 mm. Continuously adjustable using the scale on the gun.
What does the displacement measuring system measure?
The integrated displacement measuring system records stud protrusion, lift, plunge and piston speed. In conjunction with suitable equipment technology, these values can be displayed and monitored.
Which power units are compatible?
The power unit is selected to suit the process, stud diameter, material and welding task. Please agree the specific equipment combination with us.
