START SOLUTION FINDERFrequently asked questions
about the CDP-99M
Which stud diameters can the CDP-99M weld?
The CDP-99M welds steel and stainless steel studs from M3 to M10. For zinc-coated sheets with a coating thickness of up to 15 µm, the welding range is up to M8; for non-heat-treatable aluminium alloys, it is up to M6.
Which welding guns and automatic welding heads are compatible?
CONTACT, CONTACT-M, GAP and GAP-M can be operated with the CDP-99M. ATP-8 and ATP-8M require the optional automatic module; KAH-100D and RAPIDOR QF require the CNC module. The BZ-V01 automatic stud feeding system can also be connected. Optional multi-station technology with the DA-4 switchbox enables up to four separately controlled welding guns.
What is the difference between displacement measurement and process monitoring?
Digital displacement measurement records mechanical parameters such as stud protrusion, lift, plunge and speed and can be used without optional process monitoring. Process monitoring covers both mechanical and electrical values and compares actual values with setpoints. If a deviation falls outside the tolerance, the unit displays an error message.
Which materials can be welded?
The CDP-99M is suitable for steel and stainless steel in the M3 to M10 range, zinc-coated sheets with a coating thickness of up to 15 µm up to M8, and non-heat-treatable aluminium alloys up to M6.
How fast is the welding rate?
The CDP-99M data sheet specifies 20 studs per minute in continuous operation. The welding time is 1 to 3 ms. The electronically switched inverter charging unit enables short charging cycles.
