Shuttle table and parallel welding heads
This CNC stud welding system was built for automated production of brake pad backing plates. Three welding heads operate in parallel; servo motors provide the motion.
While one table is being processed in the work area, the second table can already be loaded outside it. Exchanging the tables reduces non-productive loading and unloading time.
Process with two tables
- Prepare table 1Load it and slide it into the work area.
- Start the welding processThe system processes the prepared components automatically.
- Load table 2Prepare the second table outside the work area at the same time.
- Move out the finished componentsOnce processing is complete, pull out table 1 with the welded components.
- Exchange the tablesSlide the prepared table 2 directly into the work area.
- Prepare the next cycleWhile table 2 is being processed, unload and reload table 1.
