Frequently asked questions
about SD headed studs
Which standard applies to SD headed studs?
SD headed studs are manufactured according to DIN EN ISO 13918.
Which diameters and lengths are available?
SD 6 to SD 25 are available in lengths of 50 to 400 mm. The illustrated original table contains the combinations listed there from 10 to 25 mm and 50 to 350 mm. Other dimensions on request.
Which process is used to weld SD headed studs?
Predominantly drawn arc welding with a ceramic ferrule as weld pool protection. Smaller versions can also be processed under shielding gas, depending on the application.
Can SD headed studs be welded automatically?
Yes. Processing is possible manually and in semi-automatic or fully automatic welding systems. The design must be matched to stud diameter, component geometry and the welding task.
Are special dimensions available?
Custom lengths and special versions can be assessed depending on quantity, material and application.
Which applications are SD headed studs suitable for?
Typical applications are composite steel construction, bridge construction, industrial building construction, plant engineering, power plant construction and shipbuilding.
